I will be sharing today about another type of website that is quite similar to Voluntary Site but serves an entirely different purpose. I will call this a Promotional Site.

While a Voluntary Site is only to share informations that interests the author, a Promotional Site is designed to show off the author's talents, or company skills. Typically, a Promotional Site either promote something actual, such as a product or company, or hold samples that demonstrate an ability or professional skills, whether it is writing, web design or musical composition.

A Promotional Site need to be as attractive design to look professional, and need to include full contact details so when a surfer is impressed, they know exactly where to go. It is extremely important that the informations and materials about the subject are provided and it should be well organized with clear site maps so potential client will not run out of patient. It should also include an overview of what the company does in full details of the product , business terms, corporate informations and so on....

It also have to follow a set of guidelines about an attempt to make money as a Voluntary Site. A Promotional Site is created exclusively to draw attention to the creator or the company. Advertising banners, membership forms, requests for visitor's email address and other marketing tools will create bad impression towards you and your Pormotional website. The creator needs to think of their visitor as doing them a favor, rather than vice versa. This is to make sure that the favor is repaid as well as possible without being invasive.

Promotional Site make money by acting as advertising and marketing for the creator's core business. They will not make money in aid of themselves. Majority of companies around the world have this type of web site.
